 Dr. Barrett joins the consulting firm of Aclairo ® after 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Senior leadership positions held by Dr. Barrett include Director of Toxicology and Vice President in the CNS and Pain Therapeutic Area at Johnson and Johnson, Vice President of Drug Assessment and Development at Chiron Corporation, and Vice President of Nonclinical Development at Barrier Therapeutics, Inc. During her career, Dr. Barrett has provided oversight of nonclinical activities in the United States and Europe, led a team of scientists in evaluating the nonclinical safety of drugs in multiple therapeutic areas (cardiovascular, pain, anti-infectives, CNS, dermatology, metabolic and endocrine, and oncology), completed or reviewed IND, NDA and European regulatory submissions, conducted due diligence assessments, and interacted extensively with regulatory authorities. During her tenure at Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Barrett also participated in the team charged with the selection of early discovery leads for further development and led a cross-functional team (i.e., members included representatives from Nonclinical Development, CMC, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing) in the co-development of a drug for acute and chronic pain with a European partner. As a member of the senior leadership team at Chiron Corporation and Barrier Therapeutics, Inc., Dr. Barrett provided critical strategic input to senior executives and participated in key decisions on corporate development strategy. Dr. Barrett is board certified by the American College of Toxicology. |
